SS Tour done

Well i went on the tour with my SS last night and questioned him on a few things.

question one, the cracks in the rafter tails. The answer.
The two bad ones will be drilled, screwed and putty sealed before painting.

question two, the water capped point behind the fridge looking like it will push the fridge out to much from the wall. The answer.
It will sit flush with plaster when finished and if it wont he will put it above the fridge instead.

question three, the back door to the garage, The answer.
It is the final door i didn’t upgrade it. (when i recounted this is correct)

question four, the height of the wall in the garage is quite high due to the garage step down and the increased roof height. should it have more than only one noggin row? Answer.
No its fine.

question five, can i keep my left over bricks? Answer.
Yes i will have them stacked down the back for you.

Now onto the bad news. Apparently when they went to connect the water the main was directly under my drive way location so they had to bore a new one across the road $1,300 cost to me.

"AS1684.2 states that noggins should be half way up the studs to a maximum of 1350 and are allowed to be staggered."

And damn that sucks about the water connection, don't exactly understand why they had to get it from across the road?

  3. MMMmmm, shouldn't really be your problem... You have a contract and it includes a water connection and it's something the builder could have reasonably known prior to starting construction....
But, you did get a win with the left over bricks, usually builders return them for a credit from the suppliers, so you're in front there..
