We went down to Melbourne to see the Master Builders Homer Show 2012.
We spoke to http://www.deck-max.com.au/ and http://www.camofasteners.com.au/
I found out that there are two Camo tools and the second one goes all the way up to 146mm wide boards so the system has compatibility with 140mm Merbau. Its an alternative to the grooved board biscuit style systems of hidden fastening.
When talking to Deck Max i found out that there Merbau is naturally dried then kiln dried then naturally dried again. Then they skip dress the top and sides. This treatment gives the boards a very superior finish. Also they are ready to oil straight away vs usually having to wait till they weather then sanding them before oiling usually between 3 to 6 months after laying them. This will save some cost as you would normally need to use a deck cleaner prior to oiling to remove all the dirt that has settled onto the deck.
We are getting closer to a decision on the decks.
We liked the look of this garden art
There were some nifty garden fires.
I really didn't take enough photos of things at this show. So many good idea's in one place.
