Cure Concrete Info

I have just been reading about how to Cure Concrete. I found an interesting article that explains the different ways to achieve better results. I wonder if Metricon will employ any of these techniques to help get the best out of our slab.

  1. Hey Clinton, very few builders, particularly in the climate around Albury/Wodonga would need to do much to cure the slab other than leave it there. The concretors will usually wet the slab a bit but not for days like the article suggests. I used to see a few slabs covered in black plastic in summer in QLD but I doubt you'd see that here, especially at this time of year.

Also, modern concrete is a lot better than it used to be wtih better bonding agents and curing is not as important as it once was (so the concretors have always told me anyway).

  2. Great and simple post you shared. It has such a mythology about it, but it really is just making a common sense! Thanks for pointing that in your post.
