I went past the block last night and the frame for the garage walls had been added and the kitchen was standing up rather than leaning against a wall in the living room.
Plus a lot of temporary cross braising had been added to support everything in preparation for the roof trusses to arrive. The issue in the toilet had been fixed. The parts that were in the backyard were actually the garage walls.
I checked the plan and the portico design shows that the bricked piers are pine beams encased in bricks. No sign of these yet.
Strangle the windows had been delivered and are in the back yard. Our SS had said they weren't due to arrive until next week? i hope they don't get stolen or damaged. At least the timber frame windows for the front of the house weren't there.
Looking good Clint, it's always exciting at this stage when all the big things are happening... slab, frame, soon roof, windows etc...
ReplyDeleteSure is! the windows are delivered and sitting out the back of the house. I'm not worried about the aluminium ones but the timber windows aren’t stained and are sitting on the ground. If it rains they will soak mud up and never stain up correctly after that :(
ReplyDeleteIt got the better of me so i called my SS and he said they are installing them now so they have bet the rain. I'm glad they are up of the ground and installed before the rain hits.
ReplyDeleteI agree, timber windows sitting directly on the ground is not a good look. Yours have arrived very early, we used to always get the windows delivered and put in the garage (builder I worked for in QLD) after the roof was on.
ReplyDeleteGood they're going in today!
Yeh I didn't think they'd put them in even before the roof trusses were on. Hope it doesn't get too windy or anything.
ReplyDeleteBut at least they are off the ground now.
What stage in the build do they Stain them? anyone know?
ReplyDeleteDIY... ? lol
ReplyDeleteUsually when the painting is being done as it's usually the painter who will stain them. OR....
ReplyDeleteYou could DIY :-) as Jim suggests....
