Electrical Appointment

The Electrical Appointment is a part of the Studio M session on the 19th any ideas what i should try and do with the $2000 that's put aside for lighting upgrades.

So far I'm thinking to do the following.

Remove standard light bulb from garage and add 2 fluoro lights

Add a power point to the alfresco

Try get some down lights that are compact fluoro's or leds in the kitchen. (I don't want the power hungry Halogen ones)

Maybe one of these might be nice in the bathroom http://www.philips.com.au/c/choose-your-luminaire/aquafit-60-w-nickel-energy-saving-lamp-320101786/prd/

After i move in i think I'm going to place these bulbs everywhere http://www.philips.com.au/c/led-light-bulbs/18322/cat/

  1. Why are those bulbs only in screw type fitting and no bayonet fitting?
Are you getting the screw type all through the house?
They're not super bright either 60w equiv. sometimes its good to have 75 - 100w in some areas. Maybe you'll need more of them?

Do you need a external power point out the front somewhere? xmas lights / garden lights / automated water system ?
I have seen powerpoints in the switchboards though, that might do?

    Ceiling fans anywhere? garage ?

  2. Hmmm a ceiling fan in the outdoor room could be good to stop fly's from being able to land.

  3. Nice fitting for the bathroom, try and see one in action though as often the diffusers on these types of light fittings can impair the actual amount of light that gets through.

Also as Jim said, builders will usually put bayonet fittings in as standard, worth checking out, like the idea of the lED globes though.

If you put a ceiling fan outside, make sure it is externally rated as they have different motors in them and more shielding of the electricals to make them weather proof otherwise they often rust and end up looking pretty ordinary.
